Fraud
Organising documents when you suspect fraud
An unsuccessful transaction needs to be considered with its documents and context to assess the appropriate route.
How to prepare
1. Set out the facts
Keep the offer, contract, advertisement and communications. Preserve originals and available information about dates and recipients.
2. Organise your documents
Organise payments and transfers and note when promises were not met. Separate the money paid from other losses you can document.
3. Prepare your questions
Do not alter messages or access someone else’s account to obtain evidence. Explain whether you made a demand, filed a complaint or received a notification.
